On our final night in Türkiye, Jim (one of our fellow travellers) suggested we play a game called “High, Low, Buffalo” where we share our high and low points of the tour, plus something surprising. For me, my high was attending the ANZAC commemorations, my low was Troy, and my surprise was when we were able to sit on the side of the silica terraces with the warm water running over our feet.
This morning Rog and I got a chance to have a wander around some of the backstreets of Istanbul before we headed out to the airport. We didn’t see as many stray dogs as we usually do when exploring, but instead there were so many stray cats lounging around. They are obviously well looked after and not scared of the crowds of people.
The rest of the day was spent at airports and travelling. Rog has
headed home, and I am on my own in Scotland for a few days until Mum arrives. This will give me a chance to explore Glasgow a little bit more, plus do a tour of
the Isle of Skye.
